TP Test Date

I have finally booked my TP date which is on next year 28th January 2010. Although it is still a long way to go, but just in time before my PDL expire in February. Progress is considered quite slow compared to others as I am only learning it once per week due to distance and time restrictions. It only took my bro 2 months to obtain his licence and I am taking it like 6 months! Furthermore, his licence is class 3 not 3A!

I finally learned reverse parking yesterday. Hmm. Not as difficult as I have expected. News broke out that the schools will be changing the test regulations for parking next year. No more poles aids. Still a question mark how they will conduct the test. Pray hard that I will pass by then: X

The coincidence part, Kenix also took her test date on 28th January one year ago and she passed on her first attempt!!! Haha.

It's the big day for dear Kenix. The couple has specially chosen the once in a lifetime date: 09.09.2009 which means "chang chang jiu jiu", in Mandarin. May they stay happy, blissful and loving always. Don't forget to have as many offsprings as possible soon..Hee.

It's my first time to attend a wedding dinner at Fullerton Hotel. I must praise it's interior decor and atmosphere. It is super grand! The black & red theme choosen by the couple is simply fantastic. A dream theme by most couples. During the intervals, we were entertained by the live band performed on stage. The female singer can sing all types of songs, English, Mandarin, Hokkien & Cantonese. Thumbs up!

Elated to meet up with my poly mates...A few of them i have been seen for many years! Good to see you all again :D

At a crossroad....

Some updates of my past activities.

I have been eagarly taking up driving lessons at CDC since August. It was fun and exciting. Only attended lesson once a week due to office distance is too far from the driving centre. Till date, it was my 5th lessons. Many more lessons to go. Hopefully, i am able to obtain my driving licence soon.

Starting from this month, my company has given instructions for us to take unpaid leaves. Judging from the news and stock markets, economy is starting to pick up. Yet , it still hit us like a storm. I do not have the slightest clue how long this will last. The worst might be pay deduction or even retrenchment.

Maybe its time for me to take a break as i feel that my body is going to collasping soon. Really hate the travelling distance. I feel tired, sucked up and drained. :(

After the long wait, i finally collected my certificate last Monday.

Very happy... Hard work has been paid off. Somehow, i missed attending lectures. Every lesson is a valuable experience. Hope that one day, i am able to get my degree certificate soon =)

Missing In Action...

Wow. It has been a month that i am Missing In Action in blogspot. Please pardon me...

May has been a busy month for me.

Attended Grasshopper's Forever concert. The performance was superb, though i do not really understand cantonese. Truely enjoyed the concert. I even danced along with the music, which i have not been doing for the past three years. Haha.

Despite wide spread of the highly-contagious H1N1 virus, Darling & me still went to Hong Kong for holidays in mid may. Thank god, we are not infected. We stayed in the hotel, Butterfuly by the Prat which is convieniently located in heart of Tsim Sha Zhui. Nothing really fantastic except for Disneyland. Clothes were quite expensive. Our bugis street has comparatively more selections of things than their Womens' Street. We crossed over to Shenzhen during one of the days. Went Luohu commercial Building for shopping. Also, nothing much to shop. My favorite item of the trip is my pair of velvet boots. I guess Bangkok suits my style more.

Also celebrated my dear brother's birthday. Ahcongie is finally 21 years old. Although he is an adult now, he is still my small and cute brother in my heart...Smile :) Joyce has booked a hotel room in Aloha resort at Sentosa for his celebration. The whole room was decorated with 100 coloured Ballons !!!! During the night, we went to a retro pub in Clarke Quay called Yellow Jello Bar for drinks.

Busy, Busier & Busiest

Apologies for not been blogging lately as I was busy.

The weather was quite bad these few days. A lot of people fell sick including me.
I was sick since Sunday. Fever, flu, body aches, sore throat, tiredness…But thank god, after some self-medication, I am recovering now.

Firstly, I am finally going on a holiday with Darling since our course has ended and he is also recovering from his sternal fracture. We will be going to Hong Kong and possibly Shenzhen or Macau in May for 5D4N. Air flights and hotels have been booked. It is a free & easy trip. Hence, we are still in the midst of planning for our own itinerary. Super looking forward for that day to come.

Next, I need to urge myself to start studying for my Final Theory Test which is scheduled 2 weeks later. Hopefully, I can pass on my first attempt so that I can register for a provisional driving licence to drive on the road.

Life in Singapore is really too hectic. I felt there is just not enough time for me. There are always tons of things to do in my list, but so little time. Arrgh!

Actually, i prefer the lime green colour. But Darling said that it is ugly. Anyway, the outlet did not have any stocks available. Eventually, we settled for the pink one instead.

Have tested the camera. Like it's photo colour effect. It's touch-screen feature is also quite user-friendly. Heehee.. Now i can take quality photos wherever i go.

Darling Suffered From Sternal Fracture :(

Poor Darling had a severe fall during his outfield exercise yesterday morning and was admitted to hospital. When i received the news, i felt so worried about him. I immediately applied urgent leave and rushed down to NUH with his clothings and belongings.

When i reached there, he was already admitted to ward. X-ray showed that he had suffered from sternal fracture at his chest and he also bear wounds at his abdominal area and legs. Luckily, his face and head was not hurt. Doctor gave him a jab for relieve pain and he was admitted to ward. He had to wait for another observation till late afternoon. Darling wanted to be discharge on the same day. Hence, i waited for him as i know that my heart would only feel at ease with only his presence. Having nothing to do, I just sat beside his bed all the while, hoping the doctor would come faster. Fell asleep a few times. Time really crawls so slowly in the hospital.

NUH service really sucks. Maybe because it's only a B2 ward. It was the second time visiting the hospital. Impression was still as bad. The nurses were not attentive to the patients. Darling was told by the doctor that the nurses would apply cream on his wounds. Yet, we waited from 8am till 12pm. No signs of the cream. Feedback to one of the nurses and she said need to wait for the Pharmacy to send them the cream. The Pharmacy is only downstairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worse, the second time, at about 5pm, i asked another nurse for the cream, it was still in a plastic bag!!!!!!!!!!!! What is this????????? And, when i asked her about applying the medication, she mentioned that the doctor say it was not necessary. I felt that at least for god's sake have some courtesy to inform the patient or the family about it. I was really fuming mad.

Bad service, bad service, bad bad bad service.

When the doctor finally came, it was already close to 6pm. After the observation, we waited for another 3 hours to the final jab. The Pharmacy was closed and they need to wait for the A&E department to deliver jab. By then, i was already 9pm. I really dunno wat to say. So many staffs yet still so inefficient........

Darling is now safety back at home. He will be on 2 weeks hospitalisation leave. Pray that he will recuperate faster. We both saw the double rainbow yesterday. Hope that good things will come after this.

我毕业了!

Finally, I have cleared my last paper, elements of economics on last Sunday. Wooooohooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am feeling so excited now. 10 months of hard work has finally paid off. Gosh, it feels as though a heavy rock that has been weighing on my shoulders has been lighted off. Phew, I feel so relieved and light now. Awaiting for the school to release my last two modules’ results as well as my certificate. So far, results have been quite ideal. All straight As and As*. Hope I can score equivalent good results for my last two modules.

After the exam, I had lunch with my classmates. After lunch, Darling and I catched the movie, “Love Matters”. Then, we went shopping. I managed to pamper myself a red and white coloured dress for Sherrie’s wedding.

It was such a nice feeling – not rushing for time, no worries, no stress. Nothing really matter most but just to enjoy ourselves.

Right now, my dear one is in camp serving his two weeks reservist…Miss him…So boring to be alone at home :(

What can be worse when you are rushing for work and your dear little pair of shoes gave way?

Argh, i was faced in this sticky situation this morning.

The pair of shoes that I have bought in KL was spoilt as I was walking towards the mrt station. I was running late for work. Hence, I had no choice, dragging all the way from Sengkang to Pandan Road. Oh Gosh!

On the other side of the coin, it gave me a good excuse to buy another pair of shoes.

I always feel that it is amazing how two people are fated to be with each other.

Celebrated at Tao's Resturant prior our anniversary. Had a scrumptous 7 course meal for only $29.80++ per pax. Service and food was excellent. Definately value for money. Highly recommended!

After the meal, we watched the movie, Ip man starring "Zhen Zi San". It's been a while we watched movies and i must say that it is a very nice show. I love action movies especially those Kungfu fighting shows.

Corporate Social Responsibility

On Monday, our company has arranged employees for home visit and voluntary work at Sunbeam Place. It is a children residential home that helps to protect children who are abused or neglected. This is the very first year, we have organised something like this.

Basically what we did was similar to "Life Transformers" hosted by Quan YiFen & Christopher Lee.

Our big group of general workers were in charge of painting of the children rooms. The rest of the staffs, including myself, were in charge of cleaning the ceiling fans and clearing of the rubbish that was carelessly dumped in the garden. It was the first time that i have cleaned so many fans in a single day in whole life!

On top of that, MacDonalds and Old Chang Kee were catered for their dinner. Towards the end of it, each child was also given a present for the christmas gift. It melts my heart to see their smiles.

Although it is tiring but fulfilling.

Contributions to others can make a difference in someone's life.

My Birthday Celebration 2008

This year birthday was quite different from the others. I had a simple, low profile birthday. No clubbing or drinking. In fact, on the actual day itself, I even spent my whole day at home rushing for my Principles of Management assignment and even ended up just eating MacDonalds for dinner. Poor me! Sob Sob.

Nevertheless, i was glad that some dear friends still remembered my birthday. Celebrated with my dear sisters and sister-"fus" gang at Partyworld IB. Thanks for celebrating with me every year without fail and thanks for the lovely gifts. Still awaiting for Jo to upload the photos.

To make up the actual day, i had buffet dinner with Darling at Coca Resturants on the following Saturday as i had a sudden craving for steamboat.

What is the defination of Happiness?

Happiness is the most precious intangible asset. It cannot be measured by weight. Neither can it be bought by wealth. As part of human nature, we tend to compare or compete with other people. We may envy others, of what they may have or what they may have achieved.

Life is contradictory. We desire for the best things in our life yet we find it difficult to achieve them. The higher expectations that you may have, the more disappointment it may lead to. No expectations, then there will be no disappointment.

It is best to take things in our stride by slowing down and appreciate the finer things in our life. Learn to accept and be cherish what we may possess right now.

This is the true route to everlasting happiness.

Company Events

Been occupied with company events lately. Organising for Christmas party, Company trip, Reunion dinner, sponsorship for lucky draws...Events can be interesting and challenging. On the contrary, it can be quite bothersome. Not everyone will like the events that you may have organised.

Christmas party will be held at the VIP room at Kbox @ Cineleisure this year. As it is my first year organising events, i wish it can be a success.

Business Statistics Exam

I have finished my exam preparation for tonight or rather i don't know what to study. Glanced through the study guide and did some questions for practise. There's no need to memorise anything as formulas were given and we are allowed to bring a piece of A4 paper of our own notes. There are not much difficulties. The only thing is be careful of tricky questions and to be accurate with the calculations. Every decimal counts.

Wish me luck again.

I scored my first A* for International Business! The same lecturer will be teaching us for the next Module, Principle of Management. Oh Yah! I really enjoyed attending his class as he is a indulgent and knowledgeable teacher. Heehee.

Had a scrumptious lunch with my family @ Lao Beijing Resturant located at Plaza Singapura to celebrate both parents' birthday that falls on the same month. This was our first time visiting this resturant. We ordered the set menu for 6 pax. The restaurant was decorated with traditional chinese settings, playing traditional chinese music. Food wise was quite nice except that the serving was a bit slow. We changed the chicken dish to peking duck as we heard that its their speciality. But personally among all the dishes, i like the braised sea cucumber and fresh mushrooms most.

Another colleague has left yesterday. We had a farewell party for him in the office. It was a heartwarming moment but on the other hand, i felt a little down in dumps. It will be the company's loss to let him go as i felt that he was a good staff with commending performance. Nevertheless, wishing him all the best in his future endeavours.

Well, that is life. All good things come to an end.
