In order to succeed, we must first believe we can.
How many times we got ourselves stuck at a crossroad, not knowing which way to go. Often, we tend to worry too much when making a decision. Worry about if we can adapt to new changes, worry of failures, worry about what others perceive about us...
Someone told me before, "We only live once, so why compromise?" We should live our lives the way we wanted and not the way what others want us to be. Follow your heart. It's up to us to decide if we want to live inside or outside the box. Do what we think is the best for us.
If you think you can't, you definitely can't succeed. But if you think you can, the road of success is definitely nearer. Do not under estimate your own ability. Your mind power is stronger than you can imagine.

Backtrack a little....
This year birthday celebration was a simple
affair. As I grow older, I find that birthday does not seem so significant
anymore. Like what hubby has always said, “If happy, every day is birthday”. I
can’t help but agree. I even lost track
of my own age. To me, age is just a figure. Most importantly is the attitude
towards life. I feel as though I am still 25…hahaha!
Had birthday dinner at Watami, followed by some
drinks at Chijmes before we called it a day.
Bag from Carlos Rino & Sephora Gift
Card
Had dinner at Earle Swensons, Jem with the Poly
gang to celebrate Lifen’s and my birthday. I received not 1 but 3 pieces of
good news in a row from them!!! It was a
happy night of eating, chatting, laughing and gift exchanges.
The most special gift of the year - Yakun Vouchers
Very sweet Ted Baker pouch from Tammy
Coach pouch & Swarovski handphone pouch from Kenix
Sephora Collection from Janicia
Victoria Secret perfume sets from Lifen
Thanks everyone for the lovely gifts!!! Love it!
Last but not least. Samsung Note 8 from
hubby as birthday present.
Thanks Dearie!

Gotten my promotion letter today and my new designation will start with effect on 1st January 2014. There is a saying "You reap what you sow." My hard work has finally paid off. I did request for a job rotation and understudy my other team mates. Hopefully, my boss can make arrangements on that.
Cheers and Merry Christmas!!!

Today’s topic is about education.
With the bad economy and competitive job
market, having a degree is becoming increasingly important. Although in the
past, degrees weren't always necessary, now companies are using education as a
way to filter applicants. This is especially true if you wish to work in
government sectors. The first criteria that they look out for is education.
Let’s face it. Not every family is born
with a silver spoon. Some families simply cannot afford to fork out that
additional 15-30k just for that piece of paper. On one hand, people want to
keep up with the society. On the other hand, the skyrocketing costs of courses makes
one ponder if an investment in higher education still makes sense.
This is the hard truth. Those who are
unable to keep up with the realistic society will be left behind. How about the
future generation? How can they cope with such stress and competition?
While I do not agree that having a Degree implies that you are smarter or more superior, it is always good
to have one for the future. You might not know when it will come in handy.

All folks, I am back in action after 3
years of hiatus. Blame it on other
social media like Facebook… Tsk tsk….
What actually triggers me back here…?
Reading back my previous blog posts makes me feel motivated. I wish to continue to pen down my thoughts so that i can reflect
on what I have accomplished during my previous years.
Anyway, long story cut short, allow me to go through a quick summary
of my updates.
New
Home
Sold my sengkang home and relocated to
Bukit Panjang 3A flat which is opposite my parents’ home.
Someone asked me before: “Why are you staying in
such a small flat?” For those who don’t know, I was staying in an EA flat
previously. It seemed to be a drastic downgrade for some. Well, I guess, every
individual perspective is different. All I can say is happiness is not measured
by the size of your flat but the person who is staying with.
Below are some photos for your pleasure viewing:-
New
Job
I have moved on from my agency job to a HR position.
I have learned a lot of things in my new company and was given opportunity to learn
and excel in my new role. Working in a big organization is indeed an eye opener. I have learn how to tackle office politics, work with people whom I dislike
and how to fight for my own rights.
I feel my role is quite stagnant now and I
hope to explore in other areas of HRM in time to come.
Dream
Car
It was love at first sight. Glad to have
“little black” to ferry us around despite rain or shine.
New
Pet
I am pleased to introduce my pet terrapin
aka “xiao gui”. She is approaching one year old now and growing bigger as days
passed.
Yawning look
Angry look
Smiling look
Tamchiak and blur look
Lasik
I did not have perfect eyesight after lasik
but I am thankful that I am able to see and walk around without the aid of
spectacles.
Braces
This is something that I am most upset
about. Though attaining straight teeth, the 2 years plus of orthodontic treatment has taken its toll on my bone and gums. It has caused two of my front
teeth to lose bone and have receding gums. Currently, my two problematic teeth
are under monitoring by gum specialist. Might have to do another gum grafting
soon. I am fearful that the teeth may drop some day. However, I tell myself
what undone cannot be undone and what come will eventually come. I have to face
it bravely no matter what happens.

Stay tuned for the next update…
